Requirements

Content submitted can be in either article or video format and must center around the theme of vintage or nostalgia. Share cherished memories, streets steeped in generational history, or any flashback moments you'd like to convey. All related content is welcome for submission.

Content submitted can either be in English, Bahasa Melayu or Mandarin.

To qualify your content submission as an entry for this campaign, you must include the #BackInTime hashtag in your submission title, and select #BackInTime in the ‘NCC campaign’ field. Failure to include both will result in the submission not being considered as a campaign entry.

Article submission must be at least 300 words in length and contain at least one (1) image, with a proper source of credit.

Video submission must be at least 60 seconds in duration accompanied by a minimum of 100-word description.

Ensure your content is original and free from plagiarism. Failure to adhere to this guideline will result in the rejection of your submission.

Content submitted is to be exclusive to Newswav and not shared with other media outlets/publishers.

Participants must share the published content in the form of Newswav link (e.g. newswav.com/xxx) on any of their social media platforms (only Facebook, Instagram, X are accepted) within the campaign period in order to be eligible. Comments do not count as sharing.

Grand Prize x3
Up to three (3) creators with the highest total views across all of their published content (in all 3 languages) for this campaign will each be awarded an Instax Mini 12 along with a twin-pack film.
Highest Engagement Award x6
Up to six (6) content with the highest total engagements by the end of the campaign period will each be awarded a voucher for an enchanting experience at Thai Odyssey, valued at RM300 each.
Note: Engagement refers to genuine reactions, shares, and comments on Newswav.
Newswav Top Picks x30
Newswav will select up to thirty (30) most outstanding content, and each winner will be awarded RM150 (One Hundred-Fifty Ringgit Malaysia only).
To qualify for any of the prize selections, each of your entry must meet the following criteria:
• English content: Achieve a minimum of 2,500 views and 90 engagements
• Mandarin content: Achieve a minimum of 1,500 views and 60 engagements
• Bahasa Melayu content: Achieve a minimum of 800 views and 35 engagements
NOTE: Each participant can only win one (1) Grand Prize OR one (1) Highest Engagement Award, and one (1) Newswav Top Pick (e.g. Individual A could only win 1 Grand Prize + 1 Newswav Top Pick, or 1 Highest Engagement Award + 1 Newswav Top Pick).

Terms & Conditions
CONTEST PERIOD
1. The #BackInTime NCC Campaign (the “Contest”) is organised by Newswav Sdn. Bhd (“the Organiser”).
2. The Contest will commence from December 15, 2023 (Friday), 12pm, to March 22, 2024 (Friday), 12pm (above dates inclusive) (the “Contest Period”).
3. However, the period for you to submit your entry will start from December 15, 2023 (Friday), 12pm, to March 15, 2024 (Friday), 12pm (above dates inclusive) (the “Submission Period”).
CONTEST ELIGIBILITY
4. The Contest is open to all Malaysians who fulfil the following criteria (the “Participants"):
i) are Newswav users
ii) aged 18 & above and residing in Malaysia
CONTENT SUBMISSION & REQUIREMENTS
5. Content submitted can be in article or video format (the “Content” or “Entry”) and must center around the theme of vintage or nostalgia. Whether they are cherished memories, streets steeped in generational history, or any flashback moments you'd like to convey.
6. The Organiser reserves the right to reject any submissions that are non-relevant or forcefully related to the theme.
7. Content submitted can either be in English, Bahasa Melayu or Mandarin.
8. To qualify your Content submission as an entry for this campaign, you must include the #BackInTime hashtag in your submission title, and select #BackInTime in the ‘NCC campaign’ field. Failure to include both will result in the submission not being considered as a campaign entry.

ii) Engagement refers to genuine reactions, shares, and comments on Newswav.
iii) The Organiser reserves the right to remove any duplicated, non-genuine, malicious or spam views, reactions, shares, and comments when tabulating the winner list.
16. Newswav Top Picks (x30): Newswav will select up to thirty (30) most outstanding content, and each winner will be awarded RM150 (One Hundred-Fifty Ringgit Malaysia only).
i) There might be instances where the winners are fewer than thirty (30).
17. To qualify for any of the prize selections, each of your entry must meet the following criteria:

19. Winners shall be solely determined by the Organiser, whose decision shall be deemed final. No correspondence or appeal(s) will be entertained.
WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT & PRIZES REDEMPTION
20. Winner announcements will be made via email to the winner(s) on April 15, 2024 (Monday), 12pm.
21. Winners must provide their NRIC copy and a screenshot of their winning content shared on social media during the contest period for verification and to claim their prize. Failure to do so may result in prize revocation.
22. Winners who fail to reply to the email within seven (7) days will have their prize forfeited.
23. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or refundable in any way.
GENERAL
24. All costs and expenses in connection with the production of the Content and the participation of this Contest shall be fully borne by the Participants.
25. Content submitted must not be vague, illegal, or unlawful, lewd, obscene, sexually explicit, pornographic, disparaging, defamatory, libellous, offensive, must not infringe any third party’s legal rights, and must not be capable of giving rise to legal action whether against you or the Organiser or a third party (in each case under any applicable law). User Content must be researched beforehand and be of truth.
26. The Organiser reserves the right to reject, edit or remove any of the Participants’ content at the discretion of the Organiser, at any time.
27. By submitting the Content, The Organiser has the rights to use the Entries or material submitted for library, promotional, or commercial use globally.
DECLARATION & AUTHORISATION
28. The Organiser reserves the right at its absolute discretion to postpone, reschedule and/or extend the Contest Period and/or terminate the Contest at any given time without prior notice.
29. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the mechanics, prizes, and terms & conditions of the Contest, as well as other aspects of the Contest at its absolute discretion without prior notice.
30. By participating in this Contest, the Participants are deemed to have read and understood and have agreed to comply with all terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) set forth in this section (as varied or changed).
