Requirements

  • Content submitted can be in either article or video format and must revolve around Gen Z themes or topics.

  • Content submitted can either be in English, Malay or Mandarin.

โ€‹

  • To qualify your content submission as an entry for this campaign, you must include the #GenZ hashtag in your submission title, and select #GenZ in the ‘NCC campaign’ field. Failure to include both will result in the submission not being considered as a campaign entry.

  • Articles submission must be at least 300 words in length and contain at least one (1) image, with proper credit.

โ€‹

  • Videos submission must be at least 60 seconds in duration and accompanied by a minimum 100 words in description.

โ€‹

  • Ensure your content is original and free from plagiarism. Failure to adhere to this guideline will result in the rejection of your submission.

โ€‹

  • Content submitted is to be exclusive to Newswav and not shared with other media outlets/publishers.

โ€‹

  • Video content shall not be taken from any other platform/websites and the owner of the submitted content should be solely the creator.

โ€‹

  • Participants must share the published content in the form of a Newswav link (e.g. newswav.com/xxx) on any of their social media platforms (only Facebook, Instagram, X are accepted) within the campaign period in order to be eligible. The sharing must be a post (comments and stories do not count as sharing), and your social media account must be set to public.

  • Participants must be aged 28 years old or below (as of their date of birth).

To qualify for any of the prize selections, each of your entry must meet the following criteria:

  • English content: Minimum 3,000 views and 100 engagements

  • Mandarin content: Minimum 2,000 views and 75 engagements

  • Bahasa Melayu content: Minimum 1,000 views and 50 engagements

*Engagement refers to genuine reactions, shares, and comments on Newswav.

  1. Each participant is not limited to winning in just one category (e.g. Individual A could win Most Viewed Content Award and Most Shared Content Award simultaneously)

  2. However, the content that won the Grand Prize are not eligible to win for Most Viewed Content

  3. Each content can only win a maximum of one (1) prize from each category (e.g. Content A could only win one (1) Grand Prize and one (1) Newswav Top Picks)

Terms & Conditions

CONTEST PERIOD

1. The #GenZ NCC Campaign (the “Contest”) is organised by Newswav Sdn. Bhd (“the Organiser”).

2. The Contest will commence from  February 5, 2024 (Monday), 12pm to May 13, 2024 (Monday), 12pm (above dates inclusive) (the “Contest Period”).

3. However, the period for you to submit your entry will start from February 5, 2024 (Monday), 12pm to May 6, 2024 (Monday), 12pm (above dates inclusive) (the “Submission Period”).

CONTEST ELIGIBILITY

4. The Contest is open to all Malaysians who fulfil the following criteria (the “Participants"):

   i) are Newswav users

   ii) aged 18-28 years old (as of their date of birth)

   iii) is a citizen of Malaysia or residing in Malaysia

CONTENT SUBMISSION & REQUIREMENTS

5. Content submitted can be in article or video format (the “Content” or “Entry”) and must revolve around GenZ themes or topics such as studies (experience, difficulties, tips), sharing of information (fashion, food, attractions), or even a personal vlog/blog of your day.

6. The Organiser reserves the right to reject any submissions that are non-relevant or forcefully related to the theme. 

7. Content submitted can either be in English, Bahasa Melayu or Mandarin.

8. To qualify your Content submission as an entry for this campaign, you must include the #GenZ hashtag in your submission title, and select #GenZ in the ‘NCC campaign’ field. Failure to include both will result in the submission not being considered as a campaign entry.

14. Grand Prize (x3): Up to three (3) creators with the highest total views across all of their published content for this campaign will each be rewarded with a 3D2N stay at Kloe Hotel. There will be one (1) winner for English submissions, one (1) winner for Bahasa Melayu submissions, and one (1) winner for Mandarin submissions.

   i) There may be instances where the winners are fewer than three (3).

15. Most Shared Prize (x2): Up to two (2) content with the highest number of shares will be eligible for this prize—one (1) winner for article content and one (1) for video content. Each winner will receive two tickets for 5 Luge Rides each & Skyride Return at Gamuda Skyline Luge.

   i) There may be instances where the winners are fewer than two (2).

16. Most Viewed Content (x15): Up to 15 content with the highest view count will be eligible for this prize, and each winner will receive a cash prize of RM200.

   i) There may be instances where the winners are fewer than fifteen (15).

  ii) Participants could win more than one prize in this category

17. NW Top Picks (x30): Newswav will select up to 10 outstanding content each month during the campaign period, and each winner will receive a cash prize of RM50.

   i) There may be instances where the winners are fewer than ten (10) each month.

18. To qualify for any of the prize selections, each of your entry must meet the following criteria:

   i) English content: Minimum 2,500 views and 90 engagements

   ii) Mandarin content: Minimum 1,500 views and 60 engagements

   iii) Bahasa Melayu content: Minimum 800 views and 35 engagements

19. Each participant is not limited to winning in just one category (e.g. Individual A could win Most Viewed Content Award and Most Shared Content Award simultaneously). 

20. However, the content that wins the Grand Prize is not eligible to win for Most Viewed Content.

21. Each content can only win a maximum of one (1) prize from each category (e.g. Content A could only win 1 Grand Prize, and 1 Newswav Top Picks).

22. Winners shall be solely determined by the Organiser, whose decision shall be deemed final. No correspondence or appeal(s) will be entertained.

 

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT & PRIZES REDEMPTION

23. Winner announcements will be made via email to the winner(s) on June 14, 2024 (Friday), 12pm.

24. Winners must provide their NRIC copy and a screenshot of their winning content shared on social media during the contest period for verification and to claim their prize. Failure to do so may result in prize revocation.

25. Winners who fail to reply to the email within seven (7) days will have their prize forfeited.

26. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or refundable in any way.

GENERAL

27. All costs and expenses in connection with the production of the Content and the participation of this Contest shall be fully borne by the Participants.

28. Content submitted must not be vague, illegal, or unlawful, lewd, obscene, sexually explicit, pornographic, disparaging, defamatory, libellous, offensive, must not infringe any third party’s legal rights, and must not be capable of giving rise to legal action whether against you or the Organiser or a third party (in each case under any applicable law). User Content must be researched beforehand and be of truth.

29. The Organiser reserves the right to reject, edit or remove any of the Participants’ content at the discretion of the Organiser, at any time.

30. By submitting the Content, The Organiser has the rights to use the Entries or material submitted for library, promotional, or commercial use globally.

DECLARATION & AUTHORISATION
31. The Organiser reserves the right at its absolute discretion to postpone, reschedule and/or extend the Contest Period and/or terminate the Contest at any given time without prior notice.

32. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the mechanics, prizes, and terms & conditions of the Contest, as well as other aspects of the Contest at its absolute discretion without prior notice.

33. By participating in this Contest, the Participants are deemed to have read and understood and have agreed to comply with all terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) set forth in this section (as varied or changed).
